I've made comments similar to the following on previous occasions: Most people will remain in denial of the facts until the very end, and then it will probably be too late.

If Y2K turns out to be as horrific as all of the conspiracy theorists have been emphasizing these past few years, then the declaration of martial law isn't that far-fetched. At that point, most Americans options will have been severely limited.

Something like:

* All citizens are now ordered to stay in your homes and remain there until and unless they are directed by military personnel to do otherwise.

*Unauthorized travel is prohibited.

*Adult males may be shot on sight if found to be in violation of curfew.

Too far-fetched? Maybe. I suppose we'll all find out soon enough.
