Kim Polese is president and CEO of Marimba, Inc., a privately-held software company whose products enable developers to create, deploy and maintain robust, network-managed applications and multimedia experiences within enterprises and across the Internet. In early 1996, she co-founded Marimba with former Sun Microsystems engineers Arthur van Hoff, Jonathan Payne and Sami Shaio.
Prior to Marimba, Ms. Polese spent more than seven years at Sun Microsystems, most recently as the product manager for Oak (now known as Java). There, she played a pivotal role in conceiving and driving the Internet strategy for Java. As product manager, she spirited the development and promotion of the Java brand, including its business strategy, licensing model, marketing communications and developer evangelism.
Prior to joining Sun, Ms. Polese worked as an applications engineer for IntelliCorp. Inc. She holds a B.S. in Biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley and studied Computer Science at the University of Washington, Seattle. |
