Scumbria, re: reflect the quality of decision making from several years earlier

I have seen no indication that decision making at AMD has improved in any significant way from years past. In fact, it may have deteriorated judging from recent departures of the Pres. and the Dresden technologist.

Generally speaking, I see little difference between the AMD of yesterday and the AMD of today. What difference that may exist is negative and is attributable to the sense of impending doom at a company that continues to bleed red ink while the captain rearranges the chairs on the deck. Intel understands the long-term importance of the IA-64 architecture and has the huevos and cash to make it happen now. AMD certainly has the huevos, but does not have the financial resources to move computing to the next generation. Instead, they must pursue an evolutionary 32-bit roadmap and pray for profitability.

Greg.
