Re: your issue #2. We're now up to message #935 on this thread. Lot's of opinions and bugs have been discussed. We've seen lots of changes to the beta site based on the feedback on this thread and elsewhere. It's not perfect, but the beta site IS getting better. Bryan's been on the thread taking the point on beta design issues and answering questions. It looks to me that GNET is listening to and responding to user concerns. So I don't understand your issue with the process at all, it's not perfect, but it's far better managed than many other upgrades that I've seen elsewhere. Also, Bryan recently posted about login issues: beta.siliconinvestor.com
