chris, >>>if I read Peck's numbers correctly, he is basically saying that Intel will see no growth in the third and fourth quarters from a year ago. So he issues an upgrade?

What am I missing here? There is a logical piece that seems to be absent from his analysis. <<<

According to Peck, ASP is falling and can't get up. Free PC's are destroying demand in US consumer market. Why should anyone buy a PC when all they want to do is use free email and occassionally visit the Internet and when they are getting PC's for free (that is synonymous with no charge).

With the fundamentals being so terrible, Intel is still one of the most profitable companies (top 5) on earth.

The logic has to be that things can't get any worse and they have to get better. That is the reason for the upgrade.
