Here are the 60 or so biotechs that my data source shows as having a short position of > 1 million shares. It also shows the previous short interest, and the short interest ratio (number of days to cover based on average daily volume). Net and % net are moves so far today. Caution: As I mentioned before, this data is incomplete and sometimes misleading. For example, the large short position in NXTR has been there forever, and likely relates to some sort of convertible and/or merger arbitrage - probably ditto for AZA. OTOH, some of these stocks are clearly favorites of the shorts. For example, one great TSC quote on ELN was by a hedge fund manager who said something to the effect that "as long as I run a hedge fund, I'll be short ELN"). (I bought a smidge of ELN recently). Similarly, ORG, CNTO (chuckle) and VVUS have all been long time short targets (some for good reason).
