There is no doubt MSFT's products are going to drive the stock up but i still feel keeping guidance conservative will still help them in the long run. That is, the price should be rising year or year rather than great returns one year following by nothing in the following. MSFT's management realizes that they had good gains up to the fiscal June 1999----it only makes sense to talk down the stock so they can repeat with similiar gains for fiscal June 2000. I don't doubt it.

People are accustomed to blow-out earnings and the only way to continue this would be to lower expectations.
