3 favorite family recipes posted this morning on a y2k from my wife. rationale: part of the Y2K impact on society is that our various cravings are going to drive us batty because we can't get our discriminating tastebuds placated.

Arby's Roast Beef Restaurant "Arby Sauce"

1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 Cup ketchup
2 teaspoons water
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (not garlic salt she says)
1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Heat in pan and then let cool. Store in Glass Jar.
*****************************************************
then Janelle says to wash it down with:

A & W Root Beer
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup hot water
1 liter cold seltzer water
1/2 teaspoon plus 1/8 teaspoon root beer concentrate (i didn't even know there was such a
thing available as root beer concentrate, did you?)

i don't see any instructions on what to do with this after you mix it all together. drink it i guess.
she also didn't have any ideas as to how we are supposed to freeze mugs in the upper freezer
without electricity, but nobody's perfect. :)
**********************************************************************

then for desert, Janelle says "have some See's Chocolate Truffle"

1 cup heavy whipping creme
16 oz. semi sweet chocolate (around here that means Nestles)

Simmer 1 cup whipping cream over low heat
Stir in 1 pound semi-sweet chocolate
Refrigerate 2 hours
Then on cool surface w/cold hands, round chocolate into balls.
Roll in a shallow bowl of nuts, or powdered sugar, or M&M Bits (my favorite).
Place directly into petit fors paper cups for serving.
