A small item. CUC will sell direct to WMT. Not a big number - but a new path?

GT Interactive Software Corp. said Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will buy products directly from at least three more video-game companies instead of buying those companies' products through GT. The New York video-game publishing and distribution company, which has been Wal-Mart's primary distributor since 1993, said the change wouldn't "materially affect its 1997 earnings." CUC International Inc., closely held LucasArts Entertainment Co. and industry leader Electronic Arts Inc. will begin selling their games directly to WalMart. The sale of those companies' video games at Wal-Mart accounted for $20 million of GT's $365.5 million revenue in 1996, GT said. GT stock fell 31.25 cents to $7.125 a share on the Nasdaq.
