Hi goldsnow; That asian miracle involving education reminds me of what an ex-Bulgarian (once in the US, we're all Americans) friend told me: He said that the reason the government destroyed the schools was because of observation of the communist system. A side effect of the improved education of their peoples was a desire to change the government. This happened around the 70s, about the time the communist world began falling apart. So the US decided to sheepify its people by neglecting their schooling. -- Carl
