Maybe you can clear this up. On Bill Pay, one thing I have noticed is that Banks that take the money out of your account 4-5 days in advance, before your bill is paid, usually use a consolidator that strips off on-us transactions, (example: Bank One with EDS, and Crestar with Corillian). Other Banks (like Navy Federal), which CheckFree actually hosts the service on CheckFree servers, leave your money until the due date (or the check cashed).

I guess my question is, when stripping off on-us transactions, does that require the bank to take the money out of the account sooner? (I would hope not).
