DS: Really good post. There are others here with an interest in these two, so let's have some more thoughts. I just know there's a way to do this, and with enough looking, we're going to find it.

With your notion, DS, we can monitor the trade press for news of Dell's NT succeses as a proxy for NTAP progress. BTW, whatever happened to the anticipated slow-down in PC sales. Did everyone see the news (advertisement) that Dell is going to offer Dell-branded internet access for one year plus a sub-$1,000 pc. For a company that's supposed to be focused on the higher end user, or the second time buyer, this is pretty aggressive, and they're still gaining on Compaq.

I like this move very much because it positions them also to sell the present low-end buyer when they move up 3-5 or fewer years from now based on brand loyalty.

Southern MD is pretty country. Hope you get some daylight time to enjoy it.
