If Merced is next year, why would McKinley be 3-5 years out (from now)? McKinley is targeted to be one of the first important Intel chips made on the 0.13 micron, copper interconnect process. All of this is planned for 2001, probably late in the year. Intel will put maximum priority in holding this schedule to keep up with IBM, who's neck and neck with Intel in semiconductor R&D. Who's Sun using as a CPU chip foundry that has 0.13µ and copper scheduled in a couple of years? A little FUD there.
