Re: Here's how a company with integrity deals with a suspect PR
At 11:05, Las Vegas Casino, Inc. issued this over PR Newswire:
Las Vegas Casino, Inc., an Internet-based online casino company that is Starnet's biggest licensee for its "turnkey" casino games, is suing Starnet Communications International, Inc. for $1 billion... ragingbull.com
Needless to say, this caused quite a stir with the SNMM folks as no lawsuit had actually (yet?) been filed. PR Newswire could have just quibbled over what the definition of "is" is (i.e. perhaps they meant "is in the process of filing" rather than "has already filed"), but, because they had integrity and recognized the PR was potentially "misleading", they made an effort to call their client for clarification and, based on that information that indeed no lawsuit had actually been filed, pulled the PR and issued a retraction:

Editors should disregard SPTU002, "Starnet Sued by Las Vegas Casino, Inc. for One Billion Dollars," moved earlier today. PR Newswire has been advised by Las Vegas Casino, Inc. that the lawsuit mentioned in the release has not been filed.
