I'd agree that Bob has been unfairly treated with regard to UTEK, and that's even though I have wondered why he has recommended it for all these years. When you invest in "story" stocks, you get great returns if the story comes true, and not so great returns if things don't pan out. Just because I didn't understand the UTEK story didn't mean it couldn't have come true (or that it won't in the future). Some of my best returns have come from "story" stocks, but there are certainly plenty of stocks that I've liked that haven't done well.

No one should be judged on the basis of any single pick, but rather on the basis of the overall picture, and on the overall picture Bob has done very, very well, and he should be proud of that. If it weren't for UTEK, some other stock would have been his worst pick, and he'd be getting flack on that one, and he needs to recognize that, too. But knowledgeable investors, such as those on this thread, know that they have to take the bad with the good and accept that.
