PS. Another good question: Do astrologers take into account the fact that the stars are not where we see them, but rather possibly light years away and we are only seeing where they were? ... and the fact that we (as a galaxy) are moving as well.

Indeed, the stars are not where we see them!

However, astrology is based on the position of the Earth relative to the constellations, not with absolute positions of the latter. Because they are so far away, their apparent positions have changed negligibly with respect to the Earth over the centuries. Because precession of the Earth along its axis occurs, corrections have been applied in rigorous work. So too corrections may be applied, in the far off future, to the alignment of Earth's ecliptic with respect to the distant stars (if people then are still interested in astrology).

I have never mentioned that astrology is an exact science. In fact I pointed out that as free will is exercisable by man, astrology deals with probabilities (celestial effects incline, they do not compel!). The more evolved a person is, the more he/she is able to counter/negate astrological effects. By the way, statistics deals with probabilities but that does not negate its usefulness. Ditto for astrology!

Astrology should not and cannot be looked at in the same way as astronomy because the former requires, for its comprehension and appreciation and mastery, highly intuitive or psychic faculties.

What is seemingly incomprehensible should not be considered as so much bunk and bosh. Remember, it took the Catholic Church centuries to officially forgive Galileo, to concede that Evolution Theory has merits, and for the descendants of the Crusaders to beg for forgiveness, on behalf of their forebears, in the streets of Jerusalem!!!

So, if you don't like astrology, let it be. Maybe if enough people pray hard enough, astrology may well be consigned to limbo sooner than later!!!
