Doesn't Ericsson currently have upgrades to their
AXE switches which will piggy back my lowly packets onto some
alternate data path ?
A: It does but: Only if you as the consumer drive that. If you would like to have a better service, perhaps always on and faster, and are willing to pay more for this improvement then owner of your PSTN line would invest on this new service. But now ERICY have the technology but your operator (possibly a conservative one) is uncertain about the success of providing this new service.
What your operator is doing instead of providing these new services to you? He is buying licenses to operate mobile networks in Asia and South America. And ERICY is selling to them there. ERICY has 26% of the world's infrastructure market.
(You'd have to combine MOT and NOK to get 26% of the infrastructure market.)
Why is your operator going to invest in technologies that are not mature, standards are not yet in place, with unceratin pay back, potential customers want for rock bottom prices, (if not for free)?
Who has the edge technology to immediately recognize that I'm
creating packets, not voice, and route my packet BS onto an
IP path, rather than a voice path ?
A: CSCO, LU, NT and ERICY have the edge technology, but remember your operator is acting like Telefonica of Spain, Telia, BellSouth, France Telecom etc, they are buying licenses and build plain old networks in Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Mexico...
And -- How're we gonna get rich on this stuff ?
