Cybersurf receives $5M cash and is poised for Toronto launch of the 3web Network
Cybersurf is pleased to announce that it has received $5 million in cash from Call- Net Enterprises Inc., and that the
company has begun creating the infrastructure for the Toronto launch of its free Internet and Email service, the 3web
Network. An additional $7 million in network services will be provided by Call-Net to Cybersurf when 3web launches
in Toronto this fall.
Cybersurf already has an advertising sales contingent in Toronto, and has pre-sold 3web advertising to clients such
as IBM, Indigo Music, Books & Café, and most recently the Dairy Bureau of Canada. Cybersurf is currently in the
process of expanding its existing 3web-hardware infrastructure to accommodate Toronto users, and will begin
large-scale replication of 3web's free installation CD-ROM. As in 3web's other cities of operation, 3web's free
software will also be made available to Torontonians online at www.3web.net pending launch.
