Well, this is taking longer than I figured, no question. It's surprising that there's nothing out of the company in re Koidu and Sierra Leone ... even just a 'negotiations in progress' release. From recent news it appears still a delicate situation in SL, things still settling down. Can't deny that i've thought about lightening up, but haven't so far, in fact i'm on the bid for a few more at the moment.
1Q99 came out 29 April, so we should be getting 2Q99 before long. That's one thing i like a lot about this outfit - they report fairly promptly in a detailed and professional manner, there's a huge amount of info in the sedars - sedar.com ... in the 1Q99 there are comments on Camatchia, which i find interesting ... the majority of existing production at Luo is in the gravels on top of the pipe, they say, and as of 28/02 production was 'intermittent' due to security concerns ... it will be interesting to see what's changed there, and if the serious trial mining will go ahead ... also what's up at Yetwene, which should have improved production ... though i suspect the security costs are still quite high.
The point at which Mr Market perceives dmw to have achieved - or to be about to achieve - positive cash flow and some degree of security, assuming this .... um, actually happens -g-, will be the point we start to see the best part of the first double, imho ... and then any sort of encouraging indications on Koidu would ice the cake just nicely, eh. |
