NORTH STONINGTON, Conn., Jul 28, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE via COMTEX) -- JohnC. Gustavsen has joined The Rowe Group as Vice President of Marketing and Investor Relations. In this role, he will work with current and future clients of The Rowe Group to develop and implement strategic marketing and investor communications plans that increase the overall investment value of these client companies.

USA Video Interactive, headquartered in Mystic, Connecticut, is a Video-on-Demand company, which has grown significantly since the since the beginning of the year and is actively marketing its products andservices internationally. Both companies have enjoyed significant market appreciation in recent months.

Gustavsen is a graduate of Lehigh University and was formerly an Officer and Assistant Director of Financial Media Relations for The Travelers Corp., now part of Citigroup (NYSE: C), where he directed media strategy and investor communications on corporate finance, government and regulatory affairs, and litigation, including the preparation of internal and external communications on quarterly and annual corporate financial results. He worked with the Associated Press in Hartford, Connecticut, where he served as news and finance editor, and legislative and special correspondent; and in Detroit, Michigan, where he covered automobile industry finances and contract negotiations. He also was an editor and reporter for the New Haven (CT) Register and the Meriden (CT) Record and Journal. Most recently, Gustavsen worked for Northeast Utilities (NYSE: NU), New England's largest investor-owned utility, where he served in a variety of technical and financial communications positions. He was responsible for applying intranet-based communications technologies including a pilot project for employee communications utilizing streaming media to bridge the gap between video and data networks.
