Hassell,

You are correct. I was going to search for (still will) where I read 60%, but I went to the COMS page 3com.com and sure enough, they sold a little over a million 10/100 NICs out of 4 million total. A 64% increase, not 60% of NIC sales, 25% as you've indicated. I guess I should be whipped with a big stick for spouting misinformation and should have included the reference in my other post. Sorry Hassell.

Your inventory analysis seems correct, but if 75% of NIC sales were still 10Mb NICs at the end of last quarter, there's no reason to worry about an inventory problem.

NIC margins were maintained. S&M went up because of incentives to the distribution channel. Benhamou says things are steadily improving. Where does the 40% NIC price reduction hit the bottom line? - in S&M, I don't think so. I can't believe Benhamou has pushed a write-off forward as some have indicated if he's saying at the same time that things are looking up.

Well, I guess we can't discount a surprise in the future as I had already done.

I'm going to go study the post some more.
