** Bear Market ** I find it interesting to contemplate what a bear market would look like in this new economy. I realize the business cycle has yet to be repealed, but we now have a global economy with abundant pricing pressures all around. I still recall all those CEOs down in Williamsburg saying they have no pricing power. And we have the internet to boot to keep that pricing pressure intact. I suspect that productivity gains would continue to improve perhaps at a slower rate during a bear market brought about by an overheating economy with a tight labor market as the primary culprit. I wonder if a bear market in the new economy would be shorter in duration and milder (30% max.) as a result. I am thinking out loud here and have no real opinion at this point.
