Below is a table that I compiled from Veeco's quarterly and annual reports (price data from Yahoo). While I believe the information to be correct, I did need to get some numbers indirectly (ex., metrology numbers for time period x were up y% over the same period last year) so it is possible that I may have miscalculated something. As a consequence... caveat emptor. I have a question for people more technologically knowledgeable than myself. We are in a period where DD makers are upgrading to GMR heads. According to the quarterly report press release, upgrading to advanced GMR heads will require upgrading metrology tools to handle the advanced GMR heads. Is the same also true when upgrading to the present GMR heads, and if so, is there a time lag between the ordering of GMR process equipment and GMR-related metrology tools? Thanks in advance.
