Hi Mohan,..Re:.Y2K BH!

Mohan, from the Dismal Science on the GDP number -
On GDP

dismal.com
Business spending for information equipment remains the strongest portion of the economy. Growth jumped above 30% on an annualized basis for the first time since the first quarter of 1998. On a price-adjusted basis, there is no indication of Y2K-related
slowdowns.

Also, just saw Lyle Gramley on CNBC who stated that the GDP report was strong- just inventory and exports subtracted from the overall number. Actually, exports apparently subtracted a whole point.

Also, the media insist on comparing it with the Preliminary Q1 number of 4.3% but that final revision was actually 4.1%. Anything to cloud a story? LOL!!! Price deflator unchanged from Q1.

Ordered a new Dell Latitude notebook last night. Old notebook (not a Dell) crashed and died last week so lost all bookmarks and 'important' stuff! Yeah right! LOL! Anyway, delivery is quoted out 30 days!

Just thought you'd like to hear something other than doom and gloom where Y2k is discussed. <g>

Best,

Lee
