Chuck, you have to remember two things:

1) For a processor which you claim is a "generation behind," Pentium III will still remain very close in performance to Athlon. (Silence, all you AMD supporters. Athlon is a great chip, but definitely not as good as the name "seventh-generation technology" would lead me to believe.)

2) Intel is much, much more diversified than you imagine. If AMD executes well, that's great news for AMD, but in no way does that alone spell the doom of Intel.
