HONG KONG, July 29 (Reuters)

(excerpts)

- Morgan Stanley Dean Witter expects Asian share markets to surge and forecasts at least another 30 percent rise in the MSCI Asia ex-Japan index in the next few months, strategist Ajay Kapur said on Thursday.

"I am still unambiguously bullish on Asian equity markets," Kapur said, as he outlined a revised model portfolio that is heavily overweighted on China, South Korea and Singapore.

China could surprise with an unexpectedly strong showing this year, and South Korean growth is likely to "astound," he said.

He said China would resist a yuan devaluation this year and gain instead from increased global demand as the world economy expanded 3.3 percent this year.

Favoured stocks are CNAC <1110.HK>, China Telecom <0941.HK> Beijing Yanhua <0325.HK> and Yanzhou Coal <1171.HK>.
