I am aware that the president doesn't make a strong economy, but he can take steps to help it, or screw it up. I repeat that if this kind of great economy happened during the Reagan/Bush years, I would have never heard the end of it. The fact remains that during the "cut big government" Reagan/Bush years we had a huge increase in debt, and a big increase in government hiring, despite what the public perception is. The billion dollar plus "Reagan building" is an appropriate monument to the era.
