A higher bid on eBay only goes a small amount above the second highest bid.
For example, let's say I bid $100 and you bid $200 on the same item.
Your high bid will only show as $102.50, unless someone comes in and place a higher bid than that.


You are really trying to complicate things. Your statement is untrue.
They always show the highest bid unless it is a blind bid. They do show what the next incremental bid minimum is though, and that might be confusing you.
I have had many successful sales on eBay and only one buyer who ever flaked out.
