How typical. Did you read the part of the post that said the microcode
ruling was thrown out because Intel was caught red-handed lying in
court? AMD won in the end except for the ICE code which was still in
the AMD 486 but not being used.

The judge did blame AMD for not producing parts. However, he was *FAR*
more critical of Intel. He found them guilty of practicing "duplicity"
throughout the organization. This is about as harsh as a judge gets in
legal and ethical issues. He basically said Intel never had any
intention of abiding by the contract for the 386 and did everything
they could to make sure AMD failed. They kept AMD engineers busy with
intentionally bad 286 databases. THey also wouldn't cooperate with
definition of peripherals like the QPDM and changed requirements so
they would be late. That's why AMD got the rights to the 386 rather
than a billion dollar liability judgement against AMD.

Of course, no one at Saint Intel can do any wrong in your eyes.
