I think Boylan was just protecting his ego.

It would be hard for him to dump SRCM because he had second thoughts. However, dumping them because of a technical patent issue sounds OK. That way he doesn't look like such a fool for joining forces with SRCM in the first place.

I do agree, however, that the financial terms are better than the ones with TV Guide.

SRCM still goes to zero.
