It's actually an interesting premise. I read a study of what happened to long-term kidnapped white women. Those who survived were often converted to the tribe -- and refused to return (e.g. Dances with Wolves). The attitude that women who were raped or seduced outside of marriage were "impure" is the premise of many romantic novels -- Anna Karenina and Madame Bovary --- leading to totally unnecessary (IMO) suicides. No one, to my knowledge, ever sweriously proposed that a man who was impure was somehow unsuitable for polite marriage as long as he was good looking, rich, and nobly born. He was just a good catch. I hate fiction. The only thing worse is social history.
