believe me ..I have no argument with you regarding MSFT and "OPEN" standards. I have not mistaken the difference between the open source movment and open systems either. From what I remember from the Open systems movement form the early 90's( I was a consultant to OSF) it was SUNW who fought it most( Ex..last company to accept motif and CDE, as well as 5.4 compliant kernel..jfs...etc) however that is a different discussion. The other funny thing I saw that there was not port for AIX( believe me there is a lot of market for that)...! sun is simply afraid. How do you explain HPUX port( very little market there if any)....! you must be kidding..! What is pissing me off...is that SUNW seems to be taking a page from the MSFT book...thay also claim all their practices are simply a matter of "simple business decision". If you look my posts it should be clear that I am a big SUNW fan( usually).
