Welcome to SI. I'm sure there's an element of truth to your post.
And I'm sure you will agree that Specialists have to make money also.

Yet the NYSE has a much higher standard than Nasdaq. There's no
100 share and 17 seconds game there. No choosing who's trade you
you will execute. All trades have priority,(firstorder in, precedence,(largest order) and parity,(random drawing).

Now that ECN's are hurting Nasdaq. They're deciding to go public
separate from the NASDR, and show their limit book.

Wow! Could they become similar to our kinder, gentler IRS?
