SUF appears to be mining two bodies at Klipspringer, the first is at Marsfontein (small pipe) where they are currently mining around 40,000 tonnes per month. On the fissure they have just started and are mining around 200 tons per day.
Political risks in South Africa are trivial compared to environmental and cultural risks in Canada. You should give the people at BHP a call to see the problems they had with Ekati, the enviromental report for Ekati was about eight feet thick !!! Another few examples: Voisey's Bay, anywhere in British Columbia and Diavik has yet to become a reality. There are a lot worse places to explore for diamonds than South Africa!! Klipspringer (SUF) is one of the most peaceful places in Africa that I have ever been to. It's a great deposit and the guys at SUF will be mining diamonds there for many years to come. Every country has its problems. You should'nt always believe what you see on TV.
