re: WFMI. Point well taken, G. Moore. Shook me up to see the glowing, but glowing, 8-page pictorial and report on the Central Market in Austin in April '99 issue of Fast Company. (And I still can't bring myself to read the entire article.) Those folks at WEB are doing some GOOD work. Almost shook me right out of my WFMI stock! And WFMI has strong competition from Wild Oats (OATS) too. (OATS doing very well today in a very down stock market.) But WFMI has it plusses also: they are expanding nationally; they are strong in nutritional/herbal remedy market; they are starting a web presence; they are different from Safeway and the others (and they have better pe and psr ratios).

I look forward to visiting the Central Market in Austin my next trip. (I'm betting that if they've got a barbecue section it still won't be anywhere near the king's - Louie Mueller Barbecue out of Taylor -g-)

ps: I way preferred Randall's over Safeway when I lived in Houston.

Seems folks are always going to have a difference of opinion over food as well as stocks.
