You don't need to open attachments, you just need to see them. Let your Yahoo! account open your Word, Exel, or whatever documents. All you want is to see them on your browser. And you don't even need to save them locally. Let Yahoo! store them, and you will be able to access them on any "computer" at any place, as long as the machine has an Internet connection and a browser with the proper plugins.

Of course, this is just an example of what might happen in the near future, even though you can't do this on Yahoo yet.
