Before anyone gets too agitated about Novonyx. Consider the following (I hear Bill Nye say that all the time).

Novonyx will have access to all of the technology of both companies, and will turn it into saleable products ... sooner than either company could do it alone. If we left it up to the Novell 'Marketing Team' to decide how to make the same technology into products ... and they performed the way they have in the past ... it would be coming to market just about 6 months after MicroSoft had already locked up the potential customers with Release Zero (very cheap, multi-bugs, but just enough function to qualify as a product) ... and the MS guys would be working on Release One for release in about 6 more months, although the press would be reporting on it as if it were next week.

The real argument with Novonyx will come later ... when the revenue starts to become apparent. I hope it's soon ... and that our new CEO has been able to get control of that negotiation process before the NSCP guys get any serious commitments from Novell. We can't really lose, but we can get put in a spot where we don't get our fair share.

I know this new company can get to the market at least a year ahead of anyone else with real products ... it's best not to do anything to slow them down.
