Why be at a loss, Neocon? I was only posting an opinion, a "feeling," which is what this thread is about. :-)

Let me explain how I got this "feeling." I have some experience with "political" threads, going back much further than yours. In my experience, they tend to be confrontational: two "sides" line up, and the battle begins...Anyone in the middle gets bullets from both sides, and eventually leaves the battlefield altogether. Meanwhile, similar battles are proceeding on neighboring threads, and so reinforcements are sometimes sent from one thread to another. From an ideological confrontation the whole thing often degenerates into a personal confrontation, and so it goes on until one side is "defeated," and the other can proclaim "victory."

It's a style of debate I would prefer not to see here. I know that you personally do not employ it; but I have not seen you repudiate it.
