Mr. Thomas Cromm reports
The company's wholly owned subsidiary, Timebeat.com, in association with
Watch Central Repair Inc., is scheduled to open a new advanced Swiss watch
repair facility and showroom in the heart of New York. The facility is at 500
Fifth Avenue and is scheduled to open by the end of August. This facility
will be used to perform repair services on fine Swiss watches and to provide
Timebeat.com customers with service support and a drop-off/pick-up point for
its e-commerce antique collection.
Alexander Vileshin, president of Timebeat.com Inc., said: "We are extremely
pleased with the fast progress we have made in the past several months. We
have assembled a great team of technicians and watchmakers with many years of
experience. The customer service centre provided by Watch Central Repairs
Inc. will offer tremendous support and give us an extreme advantage over our
competitors. Not only will we offer the speed and ease of an
e-commerce-driven site, but also a state-of-the-art facility that will have
unparalleled customer support and service. With our highly skilled
watchmakers, we will be able to repair and provide warranties on all of the
finest Swiss watches. Eventually, we will add Web cameras in our service area
so that anyone in the world can see the incredible and precise work that we
do in our repair centre, maybe even see their own watch being worked on with
delicate, skilled hands."
The service centre is being equipped with the most advanced repair equipment
from Switzerland and Germany. The technicians will use a full range of
equipment to repair and fully test any watch. Unlike a common service centre
that may change a watch battery or bracelet sizing and return it to the
customer without testing it, all watches at the Timebeat.com facility will
undergo a thorough testing and quality assurance program. Mr. Vileshin added,
"Timebeat.com's customer service, combined with e-commerce convenience, will
change the way the world looks at the Internet."
AGC's board of directors has also proposed to change the company's name to
Timebeat.com Enterprises Inc., which will be voted on at its upcoming
shareholders meeting on Aug. 20, 1999.
