"Pfeiffer Named To Hall OF Fame" in Houston Chronicle. Just three months after being ousted as president and chief executive officer at Compaq Computer Corp., Eckhard Pfeiffer has been named to the Texas Business Hall of Fame. Pfeiffer will be inducted at a Nov.11 awards dinner in Houston.... Pfeiffer, 57, told the Texas Journal of the Wall Street Journal that he is grateful for the honor - and believes he deserves it: "I have throughout my professional career done so much for Texas that the unusual circumstances of my departure recently should not be a factor in this recognition." While he is in Houston there are several people here who would like to recognize him with tar and feathers. -Carolyn
