Taro: I would agree with elmatador with his last post. The whole point of competition in Europe comes down to access to the customer...the last mile. Any version of DSL will enable high band-width (I have seen up to 55Mbps...unbelievable and not needed for me..yet!).

Unbundling the local loop is very much the topic de jour, and I would be surprised that DB (sorry it's DT nowadays) will be allowed to have a subsidy. In the years past I have been a very staunch supporter of ISDN (the background again)...it is rapidly slipping. I see no reason for it anymore. Over 20 years and it never took off. The highest implementation of ISDN was achieved by France Telecom and that was mainly only for file transfer!

xDSL is coming to home...near you soon. I believe it and I have been one of the most conservative around when talking about telecom markets.

All the best everyone. Off on hols next week. May pop-in, but I will try not to.

Mika
