DD, there was a story in Forbes 3-4 yrs ago ? about a landlord's heirs who took a tenant to court to enforce a gold clause contract . The lease may have been for 99 yrs? signed 1920 ? The tenant ( I think it was an insurance co.) wanted to pay in cheap dollars. I believe the courts said the gold clause was enforceable ( ruled 1977?). the property was in a mid western city. Sorry for all the ? but the story is from memory but I feel that my recollection is essentially accurate. Perhaps someone wants to do a search in Forbes under gold clause - I am not a good searcher. Mike
