The reason the liberals comment on their employment situation, etc. is because the conservatives here have an outdated view that "liberals" are those that have nothing to lose by taxing the rich (since none are rich), and represent the lower socioecomic classes. When new people come on thats the first thing you say... its just untrue, of course. I would gladly pay more in taxes if I could be assured that some real progress will be made on the schools in the area for example, and I mean a complete overhaul, new buildings etc. I view this as an investment, same with a lot of other tax increases, I am willing to pay. I am not really willing to pay for more entitlements but that seems to be a moot issue. Anyway the point is just because someone is willing to raise taxes it doesn't mean they have low incomes.
