Perhaps you are right regarding the prospects of the overall market. I believe, however, that S3 is in a peculiar situation with respect to other tech stocks, i.e., its fundamentals are sound and its price is relatively cheap in light of indicators such as PE ratio.

Of course, one may argue that the INTC threat, to give an example, is a big force to keep SIII contained. That could be true also, but I feel that the explanation I've read from others who are more knowledgeable in the subject, plus my own reading on other technical publications, has so far convinced me that the upside potential is greater than the downside.

Let's think a little further. Couldn't the downtrend you imply is coming be of encouragement for investors to be more thorough in studying fundamentals of the stocks they plan to purchase rather than letting themselves be driven by momentum impulses? If they do their research, S3 will most definitely be a stock of choice, based on fundamental analysis. This is of course JMO.
