I say put breathalyzers on ALL cars-- that will stop the DWI's.

Some may say that sounds silly, I think it is a good idea. How you gonna do that with pot? Duct tape a big mac to the steering wheel and see how much gets eaten before the key gets jammed in the ignition?

For one thing-- a study was done and pot smokers drove BETTER than non-smokers. More safely.

IN THE WAY PAST.. I did my own testing under more than real conditions and I can safely say what your study said is a crock! :o)

MADD's stats come from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I got them from MADD's website.

I agree there are plenty of laws on the books if we can just put them to use. Do I have all the answers? No, but I do not agree that the cure to our national drug problem is to make them legal. Your own stats(if they were real) of legal prescription drugs should prove that.

How about this?

First DUI: suspension of license(DL) for one to five years- 500 hours community service- mug shot in local paper.

Second DUI: perm. suspension of DL only revokable by Gov. - 1000 hours community- cert. of completion of AA course, mug shot in paper.

Any DWI involving death at an accident: DWI suspect charged immediately with FIRST degree murder and trial guaranteed. ( if possible put family of deceased on jury).- No plea bargaining less than 50 years in prison without parole.
