OK, I see, so your point is that the paying members of SI don't see ads, SI is gnet's most valuable property and without advertising on SI where is the value proposition.

I believe first of all that SI is the only one where "members" exist that don't see ads. Hypermart, playsite etc. do have ads. For SI, I think the paying members are small in number compared to the overall viewing community. Media metrix ranks unique users so if growth in MM is greater than new member growth in SI, its all non-members viewing. They do see ads, in fact I think the SI placement is some of the most expensive on the web. So, there is a tension I agree, since the "lurkers" eventually will represent a better revenue stream than the subscribers in their current model.
