Karl; Salting techniques. You must add gold in some way. Either as gold powder(pure) or gold recovered from other simlar ores(with other trace elements in it) or as gold salt of some kind, usually the soluble gold chloride. If you have a 1000 gram sample(1/2000 tonnes) you need to add 1/2000th of say 7 grams of gold to make it assay as 7 grams per tonne. This would be 3.5 milligrams of gold, or around 1 drop of a 5% gold chloride solution. For solids it would be also a small amount. Just a small pinch of a 5% gold dust/sand mixture. A crooked person who was a gatekeeper could do it easily. In the Timmins area stories abound and whenever I drill I or my geologist stay with the drillers and take the samples personally to the lab. I am the gatekeeper here for my company along with the geologist. We are professionals and would never stoop so low. It looks like others may so stoop. There are stories about salted holes, promoters etc that would curl your hair. There was one promoter who sold penny stock to europeans for $50 per share, who said the "core had so much gold in it you could bend it" Hey if it had that much gold you coulnd't pick it up. The Europeans bit, he printed stock, he got caught, he went to jail, repent? not a bit, still doing it. Harvey Rubenstein, in the islands(Turks & Caicos??) look him up lose money.
