A few concerns:

1. What determines NTOP's revenue stream? Is it strictly a per-call charge? And if that's the case, don't you think this paradigm is already outdated in the age of free emails & instant messaging?

2. Barriers to entry: unless I'm mistaken, what NTOP does is less hardware-intensive and more programming-oriented. This means anyone with a good program can get into the game.

Conclusion: they're going to need to offer free calls. If they don't, someone will. Hell, I would do it right now if I knew how to do it. Check out Yahoo's voice-enabled chatting. It's free...and maybe, a truer model to what the net will embrace regarding internet telephony.
