> inet revolution will continue to propel forward

The internet revolution will continue, but the internet stock revolution is going to get beheaded by the mobs.

The thing that sickens me the most is what the internut stock mania has done to business practices, efficiency, and hard work. When I started my first company I worked my butt off 7 days a week for 16 hours or more. I slept in my office, and pinched every penny. We didn't have big fancy corporate parties, we didn't fly first class, we didnt form our business plan with the assumption that we could lose money forever and still get rich- we knew we had to get the product out the door, on time, and within our limited budget. If we screwed up, we'd lose our entire investment, and we'd have to get a new job.

We planned out our sotware and schedule and budget, we worked hard to make sure we didnt waste money, we basically did everything a business SHOULD do.

None of that is needed in today's internut companies. All that is needed are some cool tshirts, some billboards along 101, a kleiner perkins investment, and an IPO. 16 hour days? Forget it. Profits? Why bother? Every single internut pushes the profit predictions so far away that everyone has cashed out their options before that day will ever come.

In short, the internut mania is threatening to pervert the very essence of what young people should be learning about how REAL business works. (I'm not talking about wearing a suit, or slowly climbing the corporate ladder- all of that _is_ changing..) You work hard, you work long, and you MIGHT strike it big- but *ONLY* if you execute well. The internut work ethic is a bit easier- IPO AND RETIRE.
