This thing is really going to suck up time... Installation seemed to go fine, just one or two quirks. W95 OEM2 reported that my disk was just 2% defragged--running the utility anyway (as UO installation notes recommended) proved otherwise...and my HDD took two hours to defragment. One other non fatal bug in the installation...had to terminated the install manually, but so far so good. There is a demo to be played before you enter the online world. That is going slowly...when I've mastered the keyboard, I will proceed to Britannia later today, presumably to create a character to my liking. Happily, when I created an account online, I was given one month of free play--and did not have to submit a credit card. UO costs about as much as Thestreet.com--ten bucks a month, and although I've not seen it yet, I'll bet I visit it more often;-)
